Nigel Evans Performs at ‘The Palace of Varieties’ in Aid of Macmillan Cancer Support

March 4, 2010

Nigel Evans, Member of Parliament for the Ribble Valley, last night reprised his role with Lembit Opik MP and Stephen Pound MP to provide a comedy sketch for the Macmillan Cancer Support fundraiser, Parliamentary Palace of Varieties.

Nigel and his Liberal Democrat and Labour colleagues joined forces again to give the audience a satirical look at the fortunes that their respective Parties may face at the forthcoming General Election. They were also joined on stage by Katie Green, former Wonderbra model and friend of Mr Opik’s.

Speaking after the event, Mr Evans said:

“It was great fun to be involved in the Parliamentary Palace of Varieties again in aid of such a great cause. Macmillan Cancer Support does so much for people across the UK on a daily basis and it was a genuine pleasure to perform tonight!

“I hope that the evening has managed to raise the thousands of pounds they were hoping for and I genuinely hope that it is not the last time that Lembit, Stephen and myself get to perform together.”
